Best UniFi hosting options compared (2026)
If you run UniFi for clients, sooner or later you have to decide where the controller runs. Compare managed providers, Ubiquiti’s own cloud, on-site consoles and self-hosted servers by cost, support and the work your team takes on.
We sell UniHosted, so we are part of this comparison. Prices and features below come from the providers’ own pages; the fit recommendations are our assessment.

The options, reviewed
Official UniFi Hosting
Official UniFi Hosting has two plans: $29 per month for up to 100 UniFi Network devices and $99 per month for up to 1,000. Management runs through Site Manager.
These are the prices Ubiquiti's sign-up flow showed on September 25, 2026 (€29 and €99 in the EU). Each instance manages up to 1,000 devices. Check support and service terms in the subscription flow.
Best for: Buyers who prefer Ubiquiti’s own cloud service and Site Manager integration.
HostiFi
HostiFi offers managed UniFi hosting with unlimited sites. Its monthly tiers are $19 for 25 devices, $99 for 250 and $249 for 1,000. Annual options are also available.
The entry plan includes migration assistance and five days of backups. The $99 tier adds live chat, email, update testing, scheduling and custom domains. The $249 tier adds phone support and SSH access. Choose the support tier as carefully as the device limit.
Best for: A small deployment that fits the entry plan, or an MSP choosing a larger support tier.
CloudUnifi
CloudUnifi’s monthly plans cover 100 devices for €15, 200 for €25 and 500 for €50, each with unlimited sites. Larger published plans cover 1,000 devices for €75 and 2,000 for €150; custom plans are also offered.
Its site lists private servers, nightly encrypted backups, monitoring and expert support. New subscriptions use UniFi OS Server. The client portal includes backup downloads, team access and update controls. Ask about response times and the support channels your team needs.
Best for: Buyers comparing lower-cost private hosting with support included.
UniHosted
We provide managed UniFi OS Server hosting. Core is €59 per month for 125 devices, with unlimited sites, stable UniFi versions, daily backups and custom domains. Email and chat support are included. IP access control and migration assistance are included on every paid plan.
Scale is €149 per month for 500 devices and includes founder-led support. Our Free plan covers five devices on one site on a shared controller, without support or backups. We test release candidates internally. After stability confirmation, updates reach the Free plan before paid controllers. Paid hosting is the option to evaluate for client networks. Compare the quoted currencies and included features before choosing a plan.
Best for: MSPs who want dedicated hosting with email and chat support on Core.
Cloud Key and other on-site consoles
Keeping the controller on site can fit an organisation that already owns suitable hardware and has someone to maintain it. Include hardware replacement, power and recovery in the decision. Different consoles support different applications and capacities; compare the exact model you use.
A Cloud Key and a Dream Machine are different products. Check your architecture with an engineer before treating cloud hosting as a direct replacement.
Self-hosting
Self-hosting can make sense for a home lab or a team that wants to maintain its own server. Budget for storage, backups, monitoring and recovery as well as the server bill. A spare machine still needs electricity and your time.
For a VPS, check the software’s current requirements before choosing an instance. We have left out a universal starting price: it depends on the provider, region and resources you need. Read our self-hosting versus cloud-hosting guide for the broader decision.
Frequently asked questions
The answer depends on device count, currency and support. Ubiquiti charges $29 for 100 devices; HostiFi’s entry plan is $19 for 25 devices, CloudUnifi lists €15 for 100, and UniHosted Core is €59 for 125. Compare the tier you would actually use.
Final thoughts
Shortlist providers at your device count, then compare support, backups and the maintenance your team will own. Ask how client access and migration would work for your actual setup before moving a network.
